- Itagaki: 12.4 unfiltered, using a 0.21-m f/3.0 reflector
- ASAS-SN: 15.2 V

Coordinates (2000.0): R.A. 19 21 50.15 Dec. +15 09 24.8 (from VSX)
Spectra: Originally reported as a U Gem-type dwarf nova, ASASSN-15qd
was reclassified as a highly reddened classical nova based on
spectroscopic observations obtained by M. Fujii (Okayama, Japan) on
2015 October 5.598 UT and reported by H. Maehara (Okayama
Astrophysical Observatory, NAOJ).
